Tips for the newbs?
I seem to be progressing alright, but are there any tips for how to progress safely and efficiently? At the moment my strategy is to recruit a giant army and just keep building my town
Re: Tips for the newbs?
Start looking for farms and a potential second castle. Try to find someone with half your fame, scout them out, and raid them. Keep a castellan with a decent army at hand, and try to rotate them overnight (To spread exp evenly). So lone as you have a couple lv3 battlements and some defense, most people won't attack unless they have a good reason.

i agree with fal.
also, try to get a blue or yellow hero, and everyday possible do the hero quests with him and him alone. it give him a bunch of experience. just make sure you have the army to take on the quest without lossing anything, because after a while it'll cost to much.
for beginners its important to go the magic tower, and UPGRADE INCOME, the top 5 spells that you can buy, try to keep the, top level, and your warehouse. because if you can keep them up, then you can buy things faster and over night you can get way more moneys and resources.
hope it helps

Whats the point of spreading exp between your heroes?

Well, if you have a couple of higher lvl heroes, it make spending all the ap down take a lot less RW time. Plus, you can be more mobile, not having to use your main hero to transport resources frees him up to do more meaningful tasks.

Oh yea, make sure you use all your ap. Try not to let it max out, ap = resource = power.

One trick that might help is to focus only on one type of mine. Then you only need to focus on upgrading one spell and can use the market to distribute your resources instead of upgrading spells for all of them.

good idea, except for when it fulls up over night, its good to have all of them upgraded a bunch to make it so you can get ALOT of resource over night.
either that or upgrade your resources as much as possible to kee them from being able to brim. then ou can do anything

I don't know of a disadvantage of participating in the arena, 'cause you don't lose any troops. However, I don't know if they actually give out items or not. If they do I would say get your hero in the arena as soon as s/he hit level 20, once every 3 hours. 'Cause even if you lose you still get points.
I tip for the arena use range and melee units. Whereas, in the NPC battles you can have solely range units; you want to have melee units 'cause they can (and I am using the word "can" in the grammatically correct sense) do more damage to your opponent's units. Thus, forcing your opponent to focus on your melee units, which have much better defense than your range units. Or your melee units will hold off your opponent's melee unit from getting to your range units.
